The Issues

As the only lead-finder for future women candidates, She Should Run has a responsibility to encourage women and girls to connect the dots between political leadership and the leading societal issues that have disproportionate effects on them.

Our own research is two-fold and crystal clear: Women are motivated to consider running for office because of issues that directly affect them; and, they require support and encouragement from a trusted source in order to step into the critical leadership roles we need them to fill.

In order to have a multiplier effect on gender equality, She Should Run underpins its programming strategy on five issues poised to impact women and girls the most over the long term. Those issues, as cross referenced by YWCA and UN Women, and regularly cited by Gen Z women from all political parties include:

Economy
Climate Change
Reproductive Health
Racism
Gun Violence
