Leadership is about doing our best to serve the mission, values, and people we work with and for. No matter our qualifications or intent we will likely make mistakes or disagree with others as we pursue big ideas and worthy goals. This means we will likely experience feedback, criticism, and rejection at some point along the way. Fear of perceived failure is a huge barrier to considering a variety of leadership opportunities, including running for office. When we learn to process our responses to criticism and turn them into opportunities, we also build our ability to innovate, influence others, and collaborate with those who hold different ideas than us. Each of these skills can help us in any leadership opportunity we pursue, and can build our confidence to courageously go after the things we care about.

In this webinar, with guest speaker and former congressional candidate, Anita Malik, we talked about leadership successes, failures, hardships, and triumphs, and how to build your ability to bounce back when things don’t go as planned. After watching this webinar, you will be better able to:

  • Use criticism and rejection to improve performance
  • Build personal resilience
  • Confidently take leadership risks
