Kathleen Kiernan

Program Manager

Kathleen is a champion for women's equality and representation. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, she has always advocated for women having a voice and a seat at the table. As a student at Mississippi State University, she participated in several civic engagement organizations in which she led campus-wide voter registration drives and organized various student groups to register over 1,000 students to vote for the 2016 election. Additionally, she hosted She Should Run: Mississippi, bringing She Should Run to Mississippi State along with a panel of current and formerly elected women to speak about the lack of women's representation in Mississippi politics. This event, along with her time working on a local mayoral race, solidified her desire to ensure every woman can see themselves as leaders and in other leaders.

She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in May 2017, moving to Washington, D.C. shortly after to pursue her passions with She Should Run. In her role as Program Manager, Kathleen ensures that women who come to the She Should Run Community and events have a positive, empowering experience by providing educational opportunities, community programming, and data-driven content. In her personal time, she enjoys taking improv classes, volunteering for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and exploring D.C.'s various brunch and happy hour spots.
