Chief Operating Officer

Position Description

Women’s Campaign Fund (WCF), the oldest organization financially supporting women political candidates in our nation, and She Should Run (SSR), a preeminent player in encouraging more women to run for office, are looking for a systems-oriented Chief Operating Officer (COO) with strong finance, management, and people skills to work closely with its President/CEO in being national game-changers in electoral politics. The COO is responsible for implementing efficient and effective internal operational systems at WCF and SSR. She/he will be responsible for overseeing and supervising all aspects of staff workflow, office administration, budget and financial activities, board financial reporting, and fundraising operations.

Organization Overview
Women’s Campaign Fund, a nonpartisan organization, is dedicated to dramatically increasing the number of women in elected office who support reproductive health choices for all. She Should Run is dedicated to dramatically increasing the number of women in public leadership by eliminating and overcoming barriers to success.

Responsibilities 
Program/Staff Management
• Manage day-to-day workflow and allocation of tasks for management-level staff
• Responsible for recruitment, hiring, compensation, and performance reviews of staff as well as benefits administration and oversight
• Facilitate weekly all-staff meetings and weekly metrics reporting
• Ensure that staff is receiving appropriate professional development opportunities
• Facilitate quarterly staff planning in alignment with strategic plan
• Ensure that the Employee Handbook is updated as needed in consultation with the Board of Directors and the CEO
• Other duties as required

Development
• Oversee the moving parts of the annual development plan including managing development staff on event, telemarketing, and direct mail operations
• Development and implementation of systems for weekly/monthly reporting, measurement, and revenue generation including grant reports
• In coordination with President/CEO, approve development strategies and sign-off on deliverables such as promotional items, vendor contracts, and budget line items

Board
• Prepare financial reports for all board meetings and executive committee meetings
• Attend all relevant board meetings
• Other board materials and requirements as needed

Financial
• Manage the office/operations manager, supervise all financial operations activities, including overseeing accounting practices, reviewing and analyzing financial reports, supporting and advising the CEO in decision making on financial matters, and support organizational budgeting processes
• Review and approve all supply and reimbursement requests and purchases in coordination with CEO
• Work with CEO on allocation of grant expenses
• Assist CEO in development of annual budgets in accordance with strategic plan
• Ensure all compliance requirements are satisfied including IRS, FEC and State Filings
• Ensure all financial systems including Quick Books are maintained to the highest standards
• Ensure monthly reports for Finance Committee prepared

Qualifications
WCF, as a team-based, highly collaborative work environment, is looking for a systems-oriented leader who thrives in such a climate and is excited at the prospect of leveraging a largely young but exceptionally talented staff into even higher levels of accomplishment.

MBA or similar advanced degree is highly desired. Multiple years of demonstrated management experience, proficiency with QuickBooks, and familiarity with standard accounting principles is required.

Salary
